Dragonfly, sunset's winged sprite,
Traces life's river to the waiting sea.
Freedom whispers: 'In flight...
... we find eternity'.

Funerals are very personal and different for everyone...

Grief can be overwhelming, and families often feel lost during the funeral planning process. A funeral celebrant provides emotional support, guiding families through decisions with empathy and understanding.

A civil funeral celebrant is a skilled, independent professional who specialises in creating personalised and meaningful ceremonies. Unlike religious or faith-based services, civil funerals are secular in nature, allowing families to honour their loved ones without specific religious rituals. However, a civil funeral celebrant will include religious elements, such as a hymn or prayer, if that is the family's wish.

A civil funeral celebrant is not to be confused with a humanist celebrant. Humanist ceremonies are based on humanity and reason only and never include religious elements.

Celebrants work closely with grieving families to design ceremonies that reflect the unique essence of the person who has passed away. They focus on funeral ceremonies (also for living funerals), memorials and scattering of ashes, ensuring that this final rite of passage is delivered with the utmost care.

They help families navigate the complexities of grief, ensuring that any ceremony becomes a healing experience.

My name is Anna and I am a professional civil funeral celebrant, trained and certified by Civil Ceremonies. I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants, and am fully insured to carry out my work.
